neocities reminds me of just how fun building websites by hand was! A handful of tags allowed us to create part of the static, but fun, New Frontier! Prior to that it was an exciting blinking cursor at a command line waiting for a command to take us to the wonderful world of BBS's and IRC's or checking email with Pine!
